La Suite del Despertar Del fondo, muy del fondo del bosque, van surgiendo cantos sutiles de pájaros amarillos, colibríes, gorriones y azulejos. De repente, se escuchan aves ruidosas y agoreras que invaden todo con su chillido. El agua del riachuelo canta cristalina, hasta fundirse con el rojo vergüenza, que hombres y animales conocen. Con estas imágenes, Carolina Vivas abre el proceso de creación de La Suite del Despertar, nueva obra que el Centro Nacional de las Artes crea junto a Umbral Teatro en el marco de los diez años de la firma de los Acuerdos de Paz. Abordar ese momento desde el teatro supone preguntarse cómo los logros y las dificultades en la implementación de la paz han afectado la vida cotidiana de la ciudadanía y de los firmantes — porque el teatro va de lo humano, de los conflictos y de cómo se superan. Vivas ha recogido voces de diversas orillas, usando el testimonio como fuente dramatúrgica, con la certeza de que la potencia de quienes han vivido los hechos no puede ser suplantada. Dos ejes articulan la propuesta por oposición: el relato trágico y el relato épico y festivo. La palabra de los personajes será una polifonía de las voces del dolor, pero también de la resiliencia.
